Laceys Mediation is a branch of Laceys Solicitors, and most of our mediators are legally trained as well as being highly skilled and fully trained in mediation. Because we are a dedicated mediation service, our mediators are very experienced, and used to dealing with a wide variety of cases and situations.
Laceys Mediation obtained a franchise from the Legal Services Commission [Legal Aid Board] for family mediation in 1999, and is now the leading mediation provider of its kind on the South Coast, and one of the largest mediation services of its type in the country.

Gemma
Gemma Burden is a Solicitor/Mediator and a partner in Laceys Solicitors. She is the Partner in charge of the Mediation Department. Gemma has specialised in family law since qualifying as a solicitor in 1999. She has been mediating full time since the summer of 2009, having passed her mediation foundation training, whereupon she joined the Family Mediators Association. She has completed additional training to enable her to undertake Publicly Funded work for both children and financial arrangements, and is qualified to see children as part of the mediation process. Gemma is able to draw on her legal expertise when helping couples work out complex financial settlements and new parenting arrangements as they work together to reach agreed proposals for settlement.

Kenneth Clarke
Kenneth Clarke is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with more than thirty years experience in the field of family law. Trained as a mediator in 1995 he is a member of the Family Mediators Association, accredited by the Legal Services Commission and a member of the Family Mediation Council. He heads the Southampton Office of Laceys Mediation. Kenneth is a highly experienced, innovative and well-respected mediator, bringing care, concern, expertise and wit to clients at a difficult time in their lives. Not only proficient in dealing with complicated financial issues, and helping couples with parenting issues, Kenneth is also qualified to consult with children as part of the mediation process.

Angela Riley
Angela Riley is a highly experienced and successful lawyer-mediator. Her patience enables her to tackle the trickiest situations, and her enthusiasm and drive is infectious. Angela is a member of the Law Society Family Mediation panel and advises this panel as an independent expert, she is accredited by the Legal Services Commission, a member of the Family Mediators Association, the Family Mediation Council and the Court of Appeal Mediation Panel. In addition to high finance cases and parenting issues, Angela is qualified to consult with children, which she finds a worthwhile and constructive part of the mediation process.

Becky Vallory
Becky Vallory joined Laceys Mediation in 2003 and is trained in mediating with families regarding issues surrounding their children, helping them to structure parenting plans and patiently guiding them as they work out how to parent their children in difficult and new situations.  Becky is a member of the Family Mediation Association, accredited by the Legal Services Commission and is a member of the Family Mediation Council.

Michelle Whiting
Michelle Bettell is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and is a Committee Member of the Bournemouth and District branch of the Institute of Legal Executives. Michelle has specialised in Family Law for some years qualifying as a Fellow in July 2007. Michelle passed her Family Mediation Foundation Training in February 2011 when she joined the Family Mediators Association. Michelle is a member of Resolution and is keen to assist couples to work together to reach fair solutions in respect of all types of family mediation.
