"I felt that mediation would not be as successful as it has been for
us. I was very nervous about seeing my ex-husband after a year and
a half. Initially, [his] attitude was fairly unco-operative but
Mike spoke calming throughout showed no favouritism, just explained
the facts and the alternatives if this did not work. After about
four sessions at loggerheads we began to make headway. We were able
to discuss the children whom [he] had not seen for 18 months [He]
was able to put his view of the situation across as was I. Mediation
has helped us come to a financial decision; contact with the children
resumed to regular but short visits and has restored our friendship.
We are now able to go out as a family occasionally, talk on the
phone regularly and not just about the kids but about ourselves
