FOLLOWS:
Each party to the mediation will be required to pay £150 + vat for each session, scheduled for 90 minutes. Payment is expected at the session and may be made either by cheque, debit or credit card (no additional charge).
The session to go through the Summary is often shorter than 90 minutes. The charge remains the same, as this covers the costs of preparing the Summary and where applicable Financial Disclosure.
There are no hidden extras! Our charges include all photocopying, printing, letters, phone calls and administration charges.
CHILD CONSULTATION AS PART OF THE MEDIATION PROCESS
Child consultation as part of the mediation process takes place
with two mediators but neither parent present. These sessions
are usually shorter than mediation sessions – typically
30-45 minutes. Each parent is charged £75 + vat for these
sessions.

Where parents feel that they would benefit by their children speaking to an independent third party, we are able to offer this service. The mediators conducting the sessions with children are highly experienced mediators, and qualified in child consultation to national standards. They are also screened by the Criminal Records Bureau to enhanced disclosure level. We need to see both parents together initially, to explain the process to them and to go through the Agreement which they both have to sign. We would also consider whether either parent were eligible for legal aid, because if so that parent’s costs would be met by the Legal Services Commission. We would use this initial meeting as a planning meeting, discussing the current problem whether it be contact, residence or other issues, and to find the parents ideas about what they would want a consultation with the children to produce. We would explain the limitations and reasonable expectations of such a meeting. We then contact the children, inviting them into to see us and an appointment is set up. We then have a further meeting with both parents to ‘feedback’ and we tell them what [if anything] the children have asked us to report back to their parents. Our charges are £300 per parent plus v.a.t for this service for those clients who are not eligible for legal aid. If further sessions are required to discuss any issues or monitor contact arrangements, these will be charged at our usual rate of £150 + vat per person per ninety minute session.
